In the graphic you can see a list of evidence based guidelines for reducing risk of injury: . - programming is a key one. Whether it be in the exercises used, the volume prescribed, or the intensity, these are things that are very important to manage appropriately depending upon what your injury history is, time of season, etc. . - Sleep cannot be overlooked (though it usually is). Getting more sleep will almost always be more beneficial, so focus on changing habits as needed. . - Nutrition is often discussed for body comp/performance, and the same goes for risk reduction. Ensuring you have proper fuel for your demands and ability to recover is critical . - A well hydrated body is more adequately prepared to take load - enough said . - Load management across the whole life is valuable. If you’re fighting with your significant other, worried about your job, etc. you will be at more risk for injury. When things in life hit the fan, adjust training and other things to accommodate. . - Train a spectrum of physiological qualities to be adequately prepared for demands . - High BMI puts more stress on the body. If you’re excessively heavy for the activity you’re doing, work to change that. : - The technique you use will challenge your body, use one that you can handle. This is a broad statement, but you need to balance performance in the moment with what you can tolerate to recover. . - Warm up for what you’re going to do - think about it! #TSTthoughts Be Happy Y’all!
